The long awaited wedding of Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellqvist has taken place at the chapel of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. A host of royalty and specially invited guests were on hand for the nuptials of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia’s only son and thirty year-old former model Sofia. Alongside the Swedish Royal Family and the bride’s family were Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark with Frederik’s brother Prince Joachim and Princess Marie; Norway’s Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit; as well as Queen Mathilde of Belgium and Queen Maxima of The Netherlands, although their husbands were not able to attend. The UK was represented by the Earl and Countess of Wessex. The bride’s wedding gown was the creation of award winning Ida Sjostedt, one of Sweden’s most popular fashion designers.
